Code 9 has been added to the printed card in a different hand and a different ink.
The symbol is drawn. The meaning column beside it is empty.

On the reverse, in pencil, in the same hand as the day book marginalia:

        9 means they answered a question nobody asked out loud.
        We are not allowed to write that down so we gave it a shape.
